“Open format” is now THE nightclub format as DJ Sway will attest to and he thrives in front of dynamic crowds that have diverse tastes.
It’s quite normal to hear a high energy and tasteful mix of commercial pop, house/EDM remixes, hip hop/R&B, as well as Latin/Caribbean all from DJ Sway’s turntables in a single night. Being an experienced master of crowd control, DJ Sway knows how to read a room in order to grow and keep a crowd. He’s also a student of music history, and as such, holds residencies at several retro themed venues.
Throwing a ‘90s themed rooftop party? An old school funk/R&B night? A tropical throw down featuring the best of Latin, Caribbean & International? He’s done all this and more. Put DJ Sway behind the decks and you’ll find him to be the perfect addition to your team.
Weddings hold a very special place for DJ Sway and are among his favorite private events to work. He regularly books 20+ weddings every year and has made a name for himself in the industry through his timely music selection, energetic mixing style and experienced emceeing. If you’ve had the opportunity to attend one of Sway’s wedding gigs as a guest, you likely only had one complaint, that the party was too short and the dance floor would have easily stayed packed well past last call. If you don’t see him booked at any nightlife venue on a given evening, chances are DJ Sway’s rocking an exciting private party somewhere. He’s performed for dozens of name brand organizations including corporate (Discovery Communications, E-Trade, Verizon Wireless…), fashion (Lululemon, Dior, Sephora), nonprofit (National Geographic, EduTravel, RAMW…), and education (University of Maryland, Strayer University, George Mason University…). His most recent accomplishment was being selected by Verizon Wireless to DJ their entire national conference series parties. He’s also a frequent DJ for Maryland NCAA athletic events.
